The Grands-Ponts Regional Council at the funeral of the late Esmel Adou Jean de Dieu, a tax collector for the Regional Council

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, the President of the Grands-Ponts Regional Council led a delegation to the funeral of the late Esmel Adou Jean de Dieu, a tax collector for the Regional Council, who passed away on July 5, 2026, at the age of 49.

The delegation first visited the morgue in Toupah for the traditional cultural rites, then proceeded to the church, before accompanying the deceased on his final journey.

During his lifetime, Jean de Dieu’s commitment and merit were recognized by the institution. At a Regional Council session, he was honored as the best tax collector, a recognition that attested to his dedication and the quality of his work in the service of the Council.

On this day marked by sadness, the President’s presence alongside the family took on a very special significance. A native of Toupah—a place dear to the President of the Regional Council—Jean de Dieu has passed away, leaving behind the memory of a hardworking and distinguished man.

Through this final tribute, the Grands-Ponts Regional Council honors the memory of one of its own and extends its sincere condolences to his family, loved ones, and all his colleagues.
