5th Regular Session of the Grands-Ponts Regional Council: Decisions to Advance Regional Development.

The fifth regular session of the Grands-Ponts Regional Council was held on Friday, September 25, 2026, in the wedding hall of the Grand-Lahou City Hall, chaired by Minister Essis Esmel Emmanuel, President of the Grands-Ponts Regional Council.

The proceedings took place smoothly, in a calm and constructive atmosphere, in the presence of Ms. Kouakou Aya Béatrice, Prefect of the Grand-Lahou Department, and Mr. Mamidou Ouagué, Second Deputy Mayor, representing the Mayor of Grand-Lahou.

This session focused primarily on reviewing and adopting the initial budget for fiscal year 2027, as well as on several issues related to the continuation of development initiatives underway in the departments of Dabou, Grand-Lahou, and Jacqueville.

On this occasion, the President of the Regional Council highlighted the efforts made since 2024 to strengthen the local government’s capacity to act, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, education, health, social services, youth, integration, agriculture, and economic development.

The discussions also helped identify prospects for the region’s development, with particular attention given to supporting women and youth, mobilizing new resources, and implementing transformative projects.

On the sidelines of the session, the President of the Regional Council met with village chiefs from the Grand-Lahou department as part of the direct dialogue initiated with traditional authorities and various stakeholders in the region.

The Grands Ponts Regional Council thus continues its work on behalf of the people, with the goal of consolidating achievements and accelerating the implementation of projects that benefit the three departments.
