GRAND-LAHOU: PRESIDENT ESSIS ESMEL EMMANUEL MEETS WITH VILLAGE LEADERS
On the sidelines of the 5th regular session of the Grands Ponts Regional Council, held this Friday, September 25, 2026, in the wedding hall of the Grand-Lahou town hall, the President of the Grands Ponts Regional Council, Minister Essis Esmel Emmanuel, met with village chiefs from the Grand-Lahou department.
For nearly two hours, the discussions were frank, direct, and open. The village chiefs, who attended in large numbers, expressed their concerns, expectations, and the challenges facing their communities.
The President of the Regional Council provided responses to the various concerns raised and shed light on the initiatives undertaken by the regional government as well as the plans for the department’s development.
Beyond the answers provided, this meeting above all allowed for direct dialogue, fostered mutual understanding, and promoted a better flow of information between the regional institution and the village communities.
The satisfaction expressed at the conclusion of these discussions attests to the importance placed on this community-oriented approach.
For Minister Essis Esmel Emmanuel, the development of Grands Ponts also depends on an ongoing relationship with the region’s key stakeholders.
This approach of engaging with local communities would benefit from being regularly renewed in the region’s various departments in order to maintain an ongoing and constructive dialogue with the communities.
In Grand-Lahou, the Regional Council is thus reaffirming its commitment to bringing public action closer to the people and to making dialogue a tool for local development.
