• The Grands Ponts Regional Council is the region's deliberative body. It brings together all elected regional councilors, elected by majority vote and proportional representation.
• This assembly meets in sessions to deliberate on issues on the agenda. It may also submit proposals to the meeting bureau.
• The Grands Ponts Regional Council is also empowered to express recommendations or opinions on all matters of interest to the region, including those falling under the jurisdiction of the regional prefect.
